Biography of President Soeharto
Suharto is the second President of the Republic of Indonesia. He was born in Kemusuk, Yogyakarta, on June 8, 1921. His father was named Kertosudiro a farmer who also as a lurah lurah in irrigated rice fields, while his mother named Sukirah. Soeharto attended school when he was eight years old, but moved frequently. Originally schooled at the Village School (SD) Puluhan, Godean. In 1949, he managed to lead his troops to reclaim the city of Yogyakarta from the hands of the Dutch colonists at that time. He has also been the Guard of Great Commander Sudirman.
